barber shop

I was always trying to do my brothers' hair when I was a little girl. They rarely consented. I think it is so cute that Ethan let Claire do his hair. She actually did a good job too. It probably only worked because Ethan was entranced in a video game, so he sat so well for her. I love seeing how my children's relationships are developing. I hope they have good memories of these times.

in case you were wondering, here's one month to go

she loves cats

What can I say? Claire definitely LOVES CATS!!! She found this stray and played outside with it for hours in the cold. Note: it is a very tame "stray" and I bet it is someone's outside cat they let roam around.

Then the kids put it in our garage to play with it. They fed it (big mistake). And now it won't go away.

too tired to throw a fit

The other day Claire was throwing a fit about something (?). She went around the corner to continue her fit upstairs, but she didn't make it. When the crying stopped I assumed she had make it to her room and got distracted and was done crying. But when we all went to bed ten minutes later, we found she had fallen asleep on the stairs in the middle of her fit. We laughed and then naturally took pictures.

Christmas and crafts

Somehow I have no pictures of Christmas. Not even one. I think I was just trying to get through the event that taking pictures was so far from my mind. Also I was taking videos instead of stills. BUT, we had a wonderful Christmas! On Christmas Eve we went to Mike's Dad's and had a great time with all the siblings. We played some hilarious games and had some spritual moments too. Then on Christmas Day my parents came down. We had a lovely dinner and really enjoyed our time together. My mom and I did a few projects, like we usually do. And I did take pictures of those because it can be done on my time frame.

Mom fauxed (painted) our plates to match our back splash. Can you see them? Look closely to see the phone jack plate cover.

We added some fabric to these dish towels to match my chairs.

And we (she really did this one with Ethan) re-covered our bar chairs to co-ordinate with my table chairs.
Slowly but surely our house is becoming OUR home.
